Merry Christmas

Well, we just got back from Christmas vacation with the Faw Family. We had a great time celebrating with the extended Faw family at Grandpa & Grandma's house the Saturday before Christmas, and with the immediate family the rest of the week. It even snowed five inches the last few days we were there. It was beautiful! On the way home, we connected with some friends in Tacoma & Vancouver that were visiting from out of town. It was great to visit with them. The only thing we missed was being able to visit our Vos family.

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas celebration, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! One of our resolutions is to post more pictures (that's for you, Amanda :) ) So, we'll leave you with a few favorites from our week...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas at the Vos house! I tried my hand at baking some Christmas goodies this past week. They didn't turn out too badly. :)

Brad surprised me last weekend and we went on an adventure to get our first Christmas tree together. We had a great time going to pick it up, and then decorating it.

The finished producut! Isn't it the cutest tree ever???

My favorite Christmas decoration to put up...

Well, as of 5:00 last night, the fall semester is officially OVER! WOO-HOO!! It is officially Christmas Vacation!! YEAH!!! We are really looking forward to a break, and being able to visit with family and friends over the holiday. Of course, the lack of homework is a big plus, too. :) Hope everyone has a great Christmas!!

Spanish Update

The Vos family went to Spain for a week to celebrate my parents' 35th wedding anniversary (They decided to give a gift to us kids!). We had a great time with my folks and siblings. We flew into Madrid and spent 2 1/2 days there before heading to Barcelona via train & bus for another 2 1/2 days. We flew out from there back home. Here is a collage of some of our Barcelona pictures. The highlights of Barcelona were Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, the beach, and the Olympic Stadiums.

The worst part of the trip was the car ride home. I (Brad) got sick and five minutes from our house I ended up throwing up in the car while driving and had the flu for the next few days. Not such a fun time let me tell you.

I am wrapping up my first unit of CPE (my chaplaincy job) and Steph is finishing up her semester in a couple of weeks.

Vossen Adventures?

Some of you may be wondering:
Why have you created a new blog?
The main reason is that we decided that rather than each of us having our own, we would consolidate into one since we have now been a family for more than a year.
Why did you name it Vossen Adventures?
Vossen: Many people ask us what is the plural form of your last name? While there are many different ideas, Voses, Voi, Voci. We really don't know for sure. Vos is Dutch for the word for Fox. Vossen is the Dutch plural form of Vos. So we decided to name go with Vossen. My brother, who actually speak Dutch, told me that the Vossen is pronounced very similar to Vos.
Adventures: Stephanie just finished up her work at YD Adventures. We loved the adventure part of the name, and we also think that life our new life together is an adventurous journey.
Our blog is really an online chronicle of our life for our friends and family so we thought that it would be appropriate to name the blog Vossen Adventures.
